Technology in TESOL is a class where students learned about the many different technology platforms and applications that are available for free or low-cost to enhance learning, increase engagement, and improve outcomes for students.  This class provided many opportunities to explore how I might use technology in TESOL, and was a springboard for development of the culminating portfolio.

Methods in TESOL is a class that pairs well with the Linguistics course.  Unlike the Linguistics course, this class is focused on theory and practice behind of instruction.  In developing as a TESOL, one must have the understanding of human beings learn, and the comprehensive needs of learners, as well as the specific challenges and benefits of learning a second language.  This class exposes students to many strategies and theories to draw from in the field.

TESOL Linguistics provides students with a foundational understanding of linguistics.  This class offers an overview of language development and the cognitive processes that are involved in communication.  The course includes weekly lectures, discussions, or research on theory and practice of English instruction and  supports teachers in understand ing best practice for helping students successfully acquire a second language.
